Wikipedia says: "The oldest known recipe for sweet iced tea was published in 1879 in a community cookbook called Housekeeping in Old Virginia by Marion Cabell Tyree, who was born in Virginia." I did not experience a lot of foods the South is known for (like grits) when I was a child, but we did have cornbread and southern style turkey dressing.TracyKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08303342674824383688noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4167054806459662988.post-57941007457221675222019-10-28T05:21:31.181-07:002019-10-28T05:21:31.181-07:00I'm interested. As to sweet tea in the South, here in most Virginia restaurants you're encouraged to specify "unsweetened" if you don't want the sugar water.
Mathew Pausthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06157135006791553019noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4167054806459662988.post-9676051176583508682019-10-27T09:44:20.298-07:002019-10-27T09:44:20.298-07:00I'll make a point of it, Tracy.I'll make a point of it, Tracy.Rick Robinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07978136287154214297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4167054806459662988.post-10652883880559606792019-10-26T13:10:37.096-07:002019-10-26T13:10:37.096-07:00I know how it is, Rick. I do hope someday you try the Lydia Chin / Bill Smith series, I think the early ones are really good. It's one of those "one of these days..." things. I guess what I need to do is take the first one off the shelf and put it on the little TBR bookcase in the bedroom so it will be to hand when I finish something.

Though when that will be I'm not sure. I have three books in progress and two library books I've yet to crack, and I expect to get more books today (see blog). *Sigh*Rick Robinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07978136287154214297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4167054806459662988.post-30447817193012622702019-10-24T21:00:10.647-07:002019-10-24T21:00:10.647-07:00Yes, I liked everything about this entry in the se...Yes, I liked everything about this entry in the series, Margot. Sometimes, I don't care for mixing personal and professional life in a mystery, but this series usually has the right mix. I like it that Rozan has a good blend of Lydia's personal life and her professional life, too. Margot Kinberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08599589137890528065noreply@blogger.com
