Read it Again, Sam 2015 Challenge

As Bev at My Reader's Block describes it, this challenge is a chance to get credit for rereading old favorites. I love the logo for this challenge. Casablanca may not be my favorite movie of all time (because I can never decide) but it is certainly up there. I have watched that movie countless times.

Last year I had too many things going on to reread books, but this year I have several books I want to reread. I am grateful that Bev decided to continue the challenge.

The challenge is pretty straightforward:

  • Challenge runs from January 1 to December 31, 2015.
  • You may sign up anytime from now until November 3rd, 2015. Any book read from January 1 through December 31, 2015 will count no matter when you sign up.
  • Books may be used to count for other challenges as well.
  • Everyone who completes their challenge level will be entered in a year-end drawing for a book-related prize package.

Check out the challenge post for other rules and explanations and sign up.

I don't have definite re-reads planned but here are some authors that I would like to include:

  • Rex Stout (no surprises there)
  • Josephine Tey
  • Ruth Rendell
  • Margery Allingham
  • Emma Lathen
  • Jill McGown
  • Charles McCarry
  • Patricia Moyes
  • Isaac Asimov (Murder at the ABA)

My plan is to complete the "Feeling Nostalgic" level of the challenge: Reread 8 books.

Tracy, rereading old favourites would be a tough choice. I'd certainly throw in a Hardy Boys for old times sake, though. Good luck to you!

Good luck - I have failed abysmally at the ones I signed up to or set for myself this year, so I think I'm not signing up to anything for 2015, just going to work through the outstaning ones on the sidebar

Really wonder how Emma Lathen holds up. Used to love her books.

Good luck! I couldn't do it. No time. I can barely keep up with the books I haven't read. But then again, I've never been big on rereads. It'll be nice to see what books you've reread that has or hasn't held up well. Some works are timeless and obv. some not. Have fun Tracy!

Tracy - What an interesting idea for a challenge! And what a great reminder that those books we've loved can still be great sources of enjoyment. I wish you well with the challenge.

I will, Bev. I am going to be more relaxed about everything this year.

Prashant, if I was going to read Hardy Boys, it would be for the first time... and I have thought of doing that. I don't even know that I ever read the Nancy Drew books, but I may have.

Good choice Col. I will be cutting challenges back but not out. I have some personal goals too.

I hope the Lathen books hold up well, Patti. I really enjoyed the series, too.

Keishon, I am planning on having fun reading this year. I just decided to make rereading some books one of my priorities this year. I have no hope of catch up with my TBR stacks, because I keep buying more.

Thanks, Margot. There are some books I have read that I think would benefit from rereading. To see them from a different viewpoint. But most of these are just comfort reads.

Look forward to your reviews. I like to re-read, but get caught up in the new books, I wish I could find more time to look at old favourites. Perhaps you will inspire me.

Moira, I have decided that I want to devote some of my reading time to re-reads, hence the challenge. I did reread a few last year. I can't really do an adequate review without rereading.
